Biodiversity

Cape to City Freshwater education programme
Today Megan, Matt and Ben from the conservation department came to help us with our learning about the Biodiversity of our waterways.

Megan talked about the journey of the long finned eels. A female long finned eel can be 100 before she lays eggs. She can lay up to 20 million eggs!

Last week, the Year 3's completed a technology challenge in Room 4 with Ms Petherick

The aim of the challenge was for the children to work collaboratively as a group and to co-operate as a team effectively.

On the first day, they made a chair in their groups for Harold the Giraffe (doll) to sit on.

On the second day, they made a tunnel for a marble to roll down.

On Wednesday, we had an amazing morning on the Waka.

Life jackets on and waiting for the history / safety talk.

Hoes up (practising before we started)

Great timing on the paddling!

How deep is this river?

Thank you so much for taking us on the Waka. It was amazing.
